SARAH HAZLEWOOD- Registered Physiotherapist
Sarah Hazlewood, Registered Physiotherapist, is a 2016graduate of the Masters of Physiotherapy program at Queen’s University. Prior to her time at Queen’s, Sarah completed an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, where she played varsity women’s basketball and was the only female thrower for the university’s track and field team.
Sarah has post-graduate training and expertise in Active Release Therapy, Selective Functional Movement Assessments (SFMA), Mulligan Movement Techniques and Soft Tissue Release. She has additional training in K-Taping and athletic taping, as well as the application of functional dry needling and acupuncture. She is certified in manual lymphatic drainage and decongestive therapy for complex orthopeadic and lymphatic conditions through the internationally recognized Dr. Vodders School of Lymphatics. Currently, Sarah is completing her advanced certifications in manual therapy with the goal of becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy. Sarah’s passion for physiotherapy and optimizing mobility began after a debilitating knee injury she suffered while playing for the Canadian U19 Women’s National Basketball Team. During her rehabilitation, Sarah gained an appreciation for the role of physiotherapists in optimizing health and mobility. Today, Sarah enjoys educating the next generation of physiotherapists through her role as a faculty member within the Master's of Physical Therapy program at Queen's University. When she is not in the clinic, Sarah enjoys chasing after her 2 young children and participating in local KSSC sports such as basketball, volleyball, and softball.
